2015 Annual Holiday Gadget Gift Guide

The holiday season is almost upon us.  Stores have their Thanksgiving decorations out, and some even Christmas.  And that means it is time for our annual Holiday Gadget Gift Guide.  Some people are hard to shop for.  So in our annual gift guide, we strive to provide a good mix of different items.  And in this years gift guide, we have a great mix for some excellent ideas.

Unlike many gift guides, we also do hands on reviews of all of the items in the gift guide.  Below you will see all of the items in this years gift guide.  They are listed alphabetically.  After the description of the item you will also find the review schedule, for when the review of the item will be completed.  So any items that you are interested in, you will know when to check back on our website for the review.  Prices listed are in MSRP, but as usual, you should be able to find them for much less.

Creative Lab's SoundBlaster Roar 2 is a great little portable wireless speaker system.  It is very small and portable, which makes it easy to take your tunes on the go.  Just use your smartphone or tablet for your tunes,  and then link it up with the Roar 2 so everyone can hear.  The 5 drivers and subwoofer will make sure they sound great.  MSRP is $179.  The review is scheduled for week ending 11/14/15.

Next up is Creative Lab's SoundBlaster X7.  It is a small audiophile grade system with built-in amp, as well as a built-in headphone amp.  It is extremely versatile, as it can be used as a headphone amp, sound card for a gaming system, or a standalone receiver to power a pair of bookshelf speakers in a small room like a den or kitchen.  It even has a powerful built-in sound processor to engineer the sound to your liking.  MSRP is $399.  Check out the review here: http://www.stereowiseplus.com/2015/08/creative-soundblaster-x7-high.html

Not all smartphones are created equal.  If you are looking for a premium smartphone, the HTC One M9 should be on your short list.  Features like an octacore processor, 20MP camera, and amplified dual front facing speakers with Dolby processing are top-of-the-line.  And it's aluminum body is both elegant and sexy.  We reviewed the unlocked version, with an MSRP of $649.  Review is scheduled for the week ending 11/7/15.

Kingston is known as a company you can rely on for your memory needs.  Whether it is desktop or laptop memory sticks, or SD cards for your camera, camcorder, tablet, or smartphone, they have you covered.  Now with the Mobilite G2, they have figured out how to fulfill your memory needs for tablets or smartphones like the iPad or iPhone, that do not have an expansion slot for a memory card.  Now you won't need to worry about your iPad or iPhone running out of memory for all of your videos, photos, or music collection.  MSRP is $64.  Review is scheduled for the week ending 12/5/15.

Magellan has been making excellent GPS receivers for many years.  With their line of bicycle computers, you can now have GPS as well as the normal bike computer functions.  So now you can have the directions you need to get you where you are going.  For bicycle commuters, it is the bike computer you have always wanted.  And once obtained, you won't know how you lived without it.  MSRP is $499.  Review is scheduled for the week ending 10/31/2015.

Massive Audio likes their audio....well.....MASSIVE!  And their Massive Audio D1600.4 is a digital car audio amp that provides a massive 400 watts per channel for each of it's four channels!  What do can you do with all that power?  Power a lot of speakers!  After all, why have four door sized speakers when you can have sixteen!  If you know someone like that, you may have just made their perfect Christmas!  It can also be used to power a full system.  The front two channels would be used to power your door speakers.  The other two channels could be used for subwoofers.  And all of this is done with a small sized digital amp.  MSRP is $649.  Review is scheduled for the week ending 12/12/15.

Monster Cable is more than just cables.  Monster can help you with all of your sound needs.  Music streaming is getting more and more popular.  And these music streaming services are not just for your smartphone to enjoy on the go.  Enter the Monster SoundStage.  Now you can enjoy this music in your home.  The Monster SoundStage is an elegant looking system to use in your home that provides big sound.  MSRP is $249.  Review is scheduled for week ending 11/28/15.

Tablets bring us lots of fun computing power in a package significantly smaller than laptops.  Nextbook provides us tablets that won't drain our wallets.  The Nextbook has a quad-core Intel processor for great performance.  It even comes with a keyboard that attaches, making it a true 2 in 1, looking like a laptop.  MSRP is $178.  Review is scheduled for the week ending 11/21/15.

When the cellphone upgrade bug bites, it also means it is time for a new case.  Or maybe your need to upgrade is due to not using a case on your now damaged phone.  After all, with the price of smartphones, it is an investment.  When it comes to cases for smartphones, Otterbox is about as good as it gets.  The protection they provide is top notch. You will be hard pressed to find a case that provides better protection.  Many of their cases have multiple color options to choose from, for your own sense of style.  They even have glass screen protectors for a better image over plastic.  MSRP is $49.  Review is scheduled for the week ending 11/14/15.

Sigma Sport is known for their excellent bicycle computers and lights.  They also make some great sport watches.  With the increase in popularity and demand for fitness watches, Sigma has answered with the Activo.  It is a simple watch that will track your activities, such as sleep, calories burned, and steps.  MSRP is $80. Review is scheduled for the week ending 11/28/15.

As you can see, we have had some great products in this years Holiday Gadget Gift Guide.  We tried to put together a diverse group with various items and price points.  They are all high quality and well built items.  We hope one or more of these items will work for at least one of your loved ones, or maybe yourself!  If not, hopefully we at least gave you some ideas.  Happy shopping, and Happy Holidays!
