The KVM came in a box with a colored picture of the product on the top. Features of the product on the back with locations of each plug-in on the back. The KVM was secured in place by custom fitted cardboard that housed the cords for the KVM, the KVM, and the power bank. Materials used in the construction was a combination of metal and plastic.  Quality of materials used was as well as fit and finish was very good.  It seemed to be well made. Also included was the owner’s manual in both English and Spanish, and power cord.

The Design for the KVM is pretty simple. On the top it has the VisionTek logo and the power Button. On the front it has an audio jack for your headset or your microphone, a light indicator showing PC1 or PC2, and two USB 3.0 Type-C ports as well as an USB-A 3.0 port, all support up to 5Gbps. On the back it has the DC power connecter, two USB-C connectors for your systems, the switch button plug-in, a display port, a HDMI port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, two USB-A ports for your keyboard and mouse, and a USB-C to power your PC if you choose to.

After the testing, the KVM changed systems perfectly from system one that is my normal system to my second laptop with the button switch. The headphone AUX port works and you are able to use that for your needs. The power button also acts as a switch button to be able to give you another option on how to swap your systems.  While there’s not a lot for a KVM switch to do, the VisionTek VT2900 did its job in spades.

In conclusion the VisionTek VT2900 Dual System Dock is a good KVM that will make your management of multiple systems easier.  The 299.99 MSRP is a fair price.  And the build quality is good enough that it should provide you with years of use.  Based on its design, features, quality, and performance, the VisionTek VT2900 has earned our Highly Recommended Award.  For more info and complete specs, check out their website at www.VisionTek.com.
