These two iconic brands have united to celebrate over seven decades of bringing the power, detail, and emotion of live music to life and into homes.
The Klipsch and Capitol Records co-branded Heritage and Heritage Wireless speakers are designed with power, performance, and simplicity in mind. The speakers blend a nostalgic mid-century modern design, luxury materials such as real wood veneer and gunmetal switches and knobs, with the latest advancements in acoustics and technology. The Capitol One has two 2 ¼” full range drivers and a 4.5” woofer, delivering crystal clear acoustic performances with great bass.
The Capitol Three is a larger stereo tabletop system that connects to almost anything – turntables, computers, smartphones, tablets, or Blu-Ray and CD players. As part of the Klipsch Stream Wireless Multi-Room Audio system (featuring DTS® Play-Fi™ technology), the Capitol Three can receive audio input from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth® wireless technology, analog (3.5 mm miniplug and RCA), phono pre-amp, and USB Type B audio. The Klipsch Stream app allows users to enjoy popular music services, internet radio, and personal listening libraries. The Capitol Three features two 2 ¼” full range drivers, a 5 ¼” long-throw woofer, dual opposed 5 ¼” passive radiators to deliver enhanced bass, and a 192kHz / 24-bit digital to analog converter for audiophile resolution.
Founder Paul W. Klipsch created the Heresy® in 1957. Now in its third iteration, the Capitol Heresy is a compact three-way design utilizing a 12” woofer and horn-loaded mid-range and tweeter. The Capitol Heresy’s real wood veneer cabinet is handmade in Hope, Arkansas, and includes a plaque that is signed by the craftsman that made it.
All three special edition models are available in two finish options - Blonde with a tan woven grille cloth, or an Ebony with a salt and pepper woven grill cloth. Both models feature a special edition co-branded anniversary Klipsch and Capitol Records badge. ASUS Republic of Gamers Launches Rampage VI Series Motherboards
ASUS Republic of Gamers Launches Rampage VI Series Motherboards |
-- The ROG Rampage VI Extreme and Rampage VI Apex motherboards are for gamers and enthusiasts wanting to push all Intel® Core™ X-Series processors to the cutting edge -- |
Fremont, CA (August 8, 2017) — The latest generation of high-end desktop motherboards have arrived from Republic of Gamers (ROG) and are more than worth the wait. Based on Intel’s&174; new X299 platform, the ROG Rampage VI Extreme and Rampage VI Apex motherboards are designed to help gamers and enthusiasts get the most out of their PCs.
ROG is the leader in motherboard design and innovation. Our engineers tailored the Rampage series for different priorities: the Rampage VI Extreme lives up to its name for drool-worthy dream machines with custom liquid cooling and ultra-fast networking, the Rampage VI Apex unabashedly targets peak game performance and record-breaking overclocking.
|
Shared Innovations Define the ROG X299 Family
Both Rampage boards share the same DNA—essential features that enthusiasts in the Republic of Gamers crave. That starts with critically acclaimed overclocking and cooling controls for liquid and air. There are dedicated pump headers for powering custom loops and all-in-one coolers, plus intelligent fan controls for optimal efficiency and quiet acoustics. Sensor grouping lets your cooling react to a mix of workloads, including GPU-heavy gaming via direct temperature monitoring for select graphics cards.
Tuning your gaming PC is easy whether you want to perfect your setup with manual tweaking or automatically configure and overclock the whole platform with a single click using our class-leading 5-Way Optimization utility. Gaming PCs provide unprecedented options to express your style, including through personalized lighting. The RGB LEDs embedded on our boards are augmented by headers for multiple RGB LED light strips to illuminate your system, your way. All of the lighting is part of our Aura Sync ecosystem, which synchronizes harmoniously across compatible ROG graphics cards, peripherals, and monitors, along with other components from our partners.
Equipped with the latest generation of SupremeFX integrated audio, ROG’s new X299 motherboards boast enhanced recording quality for streamers who want their voice to come through clearly. Graphics cards plug into reinforced SafeSlots that protect against damage from heavy GPU coolers and rough handling.
Intel’s VROC technology combines with our optional add-in card to enable insane M.2 RAID arrays made up of a stack of parallel drives with a direct line to the CPU. You can hit ludicrous speeds with enough capacity for overflowing game libraries. You get all the latest I/O, including USB 3.1 Gen2 with Type-C ports and internal headers pushing speeds up to 10Gbps. Onboard Wi-Fi and Intel Gigabit networking are standard equipment, and you can add Intel’s new Optane Memory as a high-speed cache.
|
Setting Performance Records With the Rampage VI Apex
ROG’s commitment to pursuing the highest overclocks and top performance manifests in the Rampage VI Apex. This model is purpose-built for setting records at sub-zero temperatures—not just with LN2, but also with exotic liquid helium. Our overclocking experts have already used the Apex to set 7 world records and 16 global records. The Rampage VI Apex board hit the highest CPU frequency for an Intel Core i7 processor with 7.562GHz on all four cores and eight threads, which is significantly better than other 7.5GHz results with just two cores active. Expect more records to fall as we cement ROG’s legacy as the absolute performance leader. |
A Refined Foundation for Your Ultimate Build
ROG does more than just offer checkbox features—we take the time to ensure each one is empowering for enthusiasts and accessible for beginners. Both Rampage motherboards provide gamers and enthusiasts the powerful tuning, cooling, and personalization options for an incredibly potent platform that pushes PC performance to the cutting edge. It is this attention to user needs that defines the Rampage series – and the hallmark of ROG engineering and design.

Bryston Launches BP-173 Preamplifier
Bryston Launches BP-173 Preamplifier
New preamp is the first to employ patented Salomie input circuit and new feature set with highly flexible input/output array
Peterborough, Ontario August 7th, 2017 – Bryston has announced the introduction of the new BP-173 (Cubed Series) preamplifier, utilizing patented technology that debuted on the much heralded Cubed Series amplifiers. The BP-173 also features a new expanded input/output configuration for enhanced system flexibility. Like all analog components from Bryston, the BP-173 is covered by an industry best 20 year warranty.
Bryston’s patented super-linear, low noise input buffer jointly developed by Bryston and the late Ph.D. engineer Dr. Ioan Alexandru Salomie significantly reduces noise and distortion. The BP-173 also has improved RF and audio frequency noise filtering to prevent unwanted anomalies on the power line from interfering even minutely with the audio signal.
The BP-17³ offers expanded input/output options, including two pairs of XLR outputs and two pairs of RCA outputs, making it possible to connect a wide variety of equipment and accommodate numerous system configurations. An RCA tape loop lets users connect a line-level processor or recording device and one of the XLR output pairs can be internally selected to have either variable (default) or fixed output enabling users to easily connect a Bryston BHA-1 or other balanced input headphone amplifier. The BP-173 also includes two pairs of balanced inputs and five pair RCA inputs, and can be ordered with a high-resolution internal DAC, a premium moving magnet phono stage, both DAC and phono modules or without either module installed. Users can select sources, adjust volume and more all from the optional BR-2 remote control or via RS232 connection to virtually any control ecosystem. The BP-173 is available in either black or silver, 17-inch or 19-inch (wide) faceplates.
The BP-17³ will begin shipping to authorized dealers in September, 2017 with a US MSRP of $3995. The DAC and phono stage options have an MSRP of $750 each. The BR-2 remote has an MSRP of $375.
Pre-order special:
Customers that place a pre-order for the BP-173 by August 31st will qualify for one optional accessory at no additional cost: Choose from an internal phono stage, internal DAC or BR-2 remote control.

Metra 2010-2014 Ford Mustang 99-5839CH Dash Kit Review
When it comes to car stereos, a system is only as good as
its install. An amazing system will only be good with a terrible install. For a
great install, you need the right accessories and connectors. And you also need
them to be good quality, as well as keep up with the changing car environment.
A company known for this is METRA. And up for review today is their 99-5839CH, a
dash kit for a 2010-2014 Ford Mustang.
Features and specs:
- ISO DIN radio provision with pocket
- ISO DDIN radio provision
- Painted charcoal with a matte black center
- Touchscreen interface for climate and personalization features
- Two included trim panels allow the aftermarket radio to be mounted in top or bottom locations
- Provides accessory power (12-volt 10-amp)
- Retains R.A.P. (retained accessory power)
- Provides NAV outputs (parking brake – reverse – speed sense)
- Retains factory steering wheel controls
- Retains SYNC
- Retains the factory AUX-IN jack
- Provides an aftermarket backup camera input
- Can be used in both amplified and non-amplified models
- Retains balance and fade
- Micro B USB updatable
Wiring and Antenna Connections
- Harness
- Axxess interface and wiring harness included
- Antenna Adapter
- 40-CR10 (sold separately)
- Steering wheel control interface
- ASWC-1 (sold separately)
This kit allows installation of an aftermarket stereo into a
newer Ford Mustang. The kit came in a great looking printed box. Included in
the box were the instructions, multiple trimplates, brackets, pocket, clips,
screws, touchscreen display assembly and wiring harness. It’s everything you
need in a simple kit. Materials used were mostly plastic. Quality of materials
used was very good.
When it came to the install, it was quite simple. The
included instructions were easy enough to follow. It took a little bit of time,
but the kit worked great. I loved the stock look of the trimplates. And even
better, I loved the touchscreen display! It allow me to control the climate
control, and maintains all your factory controls like steering wheel controls
and SYNC. It also gives you access to your data for your car on screen, such as
engine RPM. I loved the steering wheel button programming. Not only does it
keep the use of your steering wheel buttons, but it also allows you to custom
program what the buttons do! The remapping even allows you to dual assign
buttons, giving two functions to a single button. Got an aftermarket back-up
camera? Metra has you covered with integrating it. Have a NOS kit for your
mustang? You can integrate that as well.
The newer vehicles more typically have a lot of controls
integrated into the dash. Buttons for features such as climate control, heated
seats, back up camera, etc are often found right on the dash. The manufacturers
make it really convenient, except for when you want to use an aftermarket
stereo. Being able to use an aftermarket stereo often requires an extensive
aftermarket dash kit. And finding a dash kit that retains all the functionality
and use of the features assigned to the factory buttons is difficult. But to
have a dash kit that does that, as well as provide additional functionality,
such as integration of a NOS kit? I didn’t think that was possible. But that’s
just what Metra did with their 2010-2014 dask dit. And I think I’m in love!
At the end of the day, we buy a product for what it promised
to do, and we expect the product to deliver on that promise. The Metra
2010-2014 Ford Mustang dash kit claims a lot of features. As expected, Metro
delivered. It worked well, giving a great looking stock look. And the
touchscreen display worked in spades, giving a clean look and great control.
Based on its design features, and performance, the Metra 2010-2014 Ford Mustang
dash kit has earned our Editor’s Choice Award. For more info and complete
specs, check out their website at www.metraonline.com.
