Kingston Digital Details Plans for IronKey's Future

Kingston Digital Details Plans for IronKey's Future

·         Existing IronKey Customers Will Have Access to Kingston’s
 World-Class Sales and Technical Support
·         Announces Sale of HDD Division to DataLocker

Fountain Valley, CA – February 29, 2016 – Kingston Digital, Inc., the Flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced that it has finalized the integration plans for IronKey™. As a leader in the USB Flash drive market since 2004, Kingston® will utilize its IronKey product line to deliver FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification solutions for customers who need the highest level of encryption and security. Kingston will ensure a smooth transition for existing IronKey customers and will work with its collective partners to enable access to sales and technical support, plus access to Kingston’s world-class product and service resources.
The “Kingston IronKey” will be the company’s top of the line as well as the industry’s most secure USB Flash drive featuring FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification. FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification is a requirement for civilian and government agencies as well as military branches in the United States and Canada. The certification is also often a requirement or guideline for financial and healthcare industry organizations. FIPS 140-2 Level 3 calls for a tamper-evident seal for physical security to detect and respond to attempts to access, use or modify the cryptographic module. Achievement of this certification required rigorous testing, which was reviewed and approved by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). It is a benchmark for security and reliability for agencies and enterprise organizations looking for the highest level of encryption.
Kingston will maintain its encrypted DataTraveler products, the world’s most-used encrypted USB drives, for customers who do not require FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validation. In addition, its close software partnerDataLocker® Inc. will continue to manage the SafeConsole® and Enterprise Management Services (EMS) platforms that both Kingston and IronKey managed encrypted drives utilize.
“Kingston’s acquisition of IronKey’s USB technology and other assets is a win for both Kingston and its customers,” said Michael Osterman, principal analyst at Osterman Research. “The acquisition will bolster Kingston’s ability to penetrate the market for FIPS 140-2 USB drives in defense-related and other high-end markets where IronKey was strong; and, existing IronKey offerings will be upgraded with newer, higher performance capabilities.”
“The encrypted USB market continues to be viable as there is always the need for governmental agencies and organizations of all levels to protect mobile data,” said Nate Steffens, vice president commodity Flash, Kingston. “Many IronKey products today support legacy NAND technology. Kingston will leverage our longstanding relationships with Flash memory semiconductors, controller partners and other component makers as well as our strong channel presence to bring IronKey products into the future and to new customers.”
The recent purchase of IronKey’s technology and assets allow Kingston to focus on its core strength of encrypted USB drives. As part of the acquisition, Kingston has sold the encrypted external HDD business to DataLocker, whose product portfolio already includes similar solutions. The deal further strengthens the partnership between the two companies.
Representatives from Kingston will be available at RSA® Conference 2016 in San Francisco, CA, February 29 to March 4 in the DataLocker booth (North Expo #N3134). For specific product information visitwww.ironkey.com

About FREITAG
In 1993, graphic designers Markus and Daniel Freitag were looking for a functional, water-repellent and robust bag to hold their creative work. Inspired by the multicolored heavy traffic that rumbled through the Zurich transit intersection in front of their flat, they developed a messenger bag from used truck tarpaulins, discarded bicycle inner tubes and car seat belts. This is how the first FREITAG bags took shape in the living room of their shared apartment – each one recycled, each one unique. Today, FREITAG supplies urban individualists the world over with a choice of over 60 different bags as well as compostable textiles, developed in-house from the bottom up, called F-ABRIC. www.freitag.ch

TURTLE BEACH’S REVOLUTIONARY NEW SOUND SYSTEM – HYPERSOUND CLEAR – HAS SECURED CERTIFICATION TO LAUNCH IN EUROPE

TURTLE BEACH’S REVOLUTIONARY NEW SOUND SYSTEM – HYPERSOUND CLEAR – HAS SECURED CERTIFICATION TO LAUNCH IN EUROPE

San Diego, CA – February 25, 2016 – People across Europe looking to hear the television better will soon be able to have a significantly improved home entertainment experience as Turtle Beach’s revolutionary new sound system, HyperSound Clear™, has received the necessary regulatory certifications to launch in Europe. HyperSound Clear is designed to help people hear and understand the television more clearly, allowing them to once again enjoy watching their favorite shows, listen to music and play video games while hearing crisp, clear audio. With the new certifications in place, Turtle Beach will begin sending shipments of HyperSound Clear to the Company’s distribution partners in the UK, France, Germany and Benelux countries.HyperSound Clear was created by Turtle Beach Corporation (NASDAQ: HEAR), a leading audio technology company for over 40 years.

HyperSound Clear is one of the most innovative audio products to come along in decades, so we’re very excited about our first international extension following our U.S. launch a few months ago, and to offer it in the UK and select European territories,” said Rodney Schutt, SVP and General Manager for the HyperSound business at Turtle Beach. “This is a key certification milestone for us given the large size of the European market and the access it gives to the millions of people interested in having a better television and home entertainment listening experience, in a way that only HyperSound Clear can deliver.”

HyperSound® technology is a fundamentally new approach to sound delivery that generates a directional, narrow beam of audio in the air. Similar to how a flashlight directs a beam of light, HyperSound Clear directs a beam of audio to targeted listeners that has been shown to significantly improve sound clarity and speech intelligibility in individuals with hearing loss1.HyperSound Clear works in parallel with the audio from the television or home theater system, so a person sitting in the HyperSound beam can independently control the device’s volume and experience immersive 3D audio, while everyone else in the room hears audio from the television speakers or home theater system at a normal volume level. This means that people having trouble hearing the TV, along with family members and friends, can once again return to the family room to enjoy the latest home entertainment together.

Consumers in the UK, France and Germany interested in purchasing HyperSound Clear should speak with their local hearing healthcare providers, who can contact the HyperSound EU team for direct sales and support via email int@hypersoundhearing.com. Across the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, consumers can contact Battery Benelux BV – a Dutch wholesaler for hearing healthcare products and Turtle Beach’s HyperSound distribution partner for the territories, at +31 (0) 88 530 6000 and at info@batterybenelux.nl.

ARK: SURVIVAL EVOLVED WANTS YOU TO PLAY WITH HANDCUFFS AND A GIANT BEAVER

ARK: SURVIVAL EVOLVED WANTS YOU TO PLAY WITH HANDCUFFS AND A GIANT BEAVER

Yes, the Natural Lumberjack Builds Dams and Gathers Wood and the New Handcuffs Help to Control Human Prisoners

SEATTLE, WA – Tuesday, February 23, 2016 – Studio Wildcard, the studio that never sleeps, has something new for the more imaginative survivors in ARK: Survival Evolved. Available today on PC, ARK players can now tame, train, and mount Giant Beavers AND use handcuffs to rustle pesky humans should they try to, say, steal your Beaver. Today’s update also offers improved client and server performance streaming.

Steam survivors will find the newly-available Handcuffs useful for ensuring their prisoners don’t escape and aren’t violent, while the super-cuddly Giant Beaver creature can build Dams, harvest and carry vast quantities of Wood, and act as a mobile crafting station. Beavers also can swim! Wildcard Studio encourages Survivors to get onto their ARK now to ensure they’re the ones doing the Handcuffing, and not the other way around!

The Giant Beaver, aka Castoroides Feliconcisor, is a large, mammalian herbivore that tends to live near water. Unlike other larger beaver species, this one retains the chisel-shaped teeth of modern beavers. As is typical for beavers, they build dams as habitats, but the larger creatures on the island have a tendency to trample them. As a result, finding unsullied dams in the wild is quite rare.
The value of a tamed Castoroides is obvious from its physiology. The creature naturally gathers wood extremely efficiently, far more than most species on the island. It's not the strongest creature, so it can only carry limited amounts, and it doesn’t realize how dangerous the island actually is.
Come join the ARK community forums HERE:
Studio Wildcard is challenging the ARK: Survival Evolved and modding communities to put their creativity to the test in the ultimate ARK: Survival Evolved $60,000 modding competition! Whether it’s building an entirely new ARK Island or designing a new competitive gameplay mode, Studio Wildcard is looking for fans to submit their entries in one of three categories: ‘Mods’, ‘Maps’ and ‘Total Conversions.’ All entries must be submitted before March 15, 2016, and the winners in each category will be announced on April 15, 2016. Jump into the Worldwide Modding Contest HERE: survivetheark.com/index.php?/forms/2-international-modding-contest/
ARK: Survival Evolved will launch in summer 2016 on Xbox One via the ID@Xbox program, PlayStation®4 with Project Morpheus support, and full release on Steam PC. The game is currently playable in Microsoft’s Game Preview on Xbox One and Steam’s Early Access program, which includes Oculus Rift VR support and an integration of Steam community features such as Steam Economy and Steam Workshop for custom maps and mods. Players can host private/LAN servers and have access to a custom-built version of the Unreal Engine 4 Editor for creating mods. The world of ARK is designed to be modder-friendly and ever-expanding!

RoadEyes presents recSMART, the World’s First Connected & Social Dashcam at the 2016 Mobile World Congress

RoadEyes presents recSMART, the World’s First Connected & Social Dashcam at the 2016 Mobile World Congress

• recSMART’s unveiling in Barcelona simultaneously launched with RoadEyes’ Kickstarter campaign
• The connected and social dashcam to trigger a paradigm shift in the way drivers communicate with their online social networks

Paris, France –
RoadEyes, a leading expert in on-board solutions for vehicles, announces today the unveiling of recSMART, its prototype of the world’s first connected and social dashcam at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (Booth: CS 130 / Congress Square Hall) from 22-25 February 2016. Developing this further, RoadEyes simultaneously launches recSMART on crowdfunding platform Kickstarter to raise funds and build a community of connected drivers through its social dashcams. Equipped with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi, a wide angle camera as well as a micro-SD card, recSMART seamlessly connects to smartphones and records driving journeys in full high definition (HD). This makes it a ‘must-have’ car accessory for people who want to capture special moments from the road and share them with their online social networks. In addition, RoadEyes is offering early bird discounts on pre-orders of recSMART made through Kickstarter (99 instead of 199), with initial shipments expected to be made in May 2016.

Boris Brault, CEO, RoadEyes, said: “People are hyperconnected nowadays, even while commuting and travelling. As the market was lacking a product that had a unique combination of connectivity, mobility and sociability, we saw an opportunity to create recSMART in response to the needs of this new lifestyle. A solution combining product, application and services, recSMART is suitable for both consumers and professionals. This marks a turning point for RoadEyes, as we reposition the company as an Internet of Things (IoT) brand that is creating a content-collecting platform from roads across the globe in order to build a community of connected drivers.”

“As part of this repositioning, we are taking a different approach than usual by launching on Kickstarter as the DNA of this project is highly social and we are all about being user-centric,” he added.

recSMART – "Community for a connected road"
In the spirit of building a community, a key advantage of recSMART is its connected feature. Unlike other dashcams in the market, recSMART connects directly to smartphones via Wi-Fi in order to capture, save and share collected data (e.g. videos, photos, GPS location, distance, time and speed). Being Wi-Fi enabled, recSMART users can easily control, manage and configure the settings of the dashcam from their smartphones.

Whether it comes to witnessing an unusual scene, a beautiful landscape, map-sharing or taking a selfie upon reaching a destination, these can be communicated in real-time to the user’s contacts on email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp, YouTube, SnapChat etc. – putting an end to the concept of driving alone.

How it works - Drive, record, secure, share
Once installed, recSMART is fully automated and starts recording in full HD as soon as the engine is turned on.  It takes both photos and videos simultaneously and saves them in the embedded micro-SD card. To help users avoid many hours of manually removing their content, recSMART automatically records over the oldest files when its memory card fills up. With its built-in GPS which time-stamps and geo-tags all footages, users can have a clear visibility of exactly where and when events occurred. While recording, the integrated gyro sensor is activated to automatically detect shocks in case of sudden braking or collision; making the video files secure and non-erasable on the micro-SD card.

Alongside its recording and transmission capabilities, recSMART provides data on vehicle position, speed, time, geo-location and maps. This allows drivers to keep tabs on themselves or save and share interesting driving ‘stories’ (e.g. scenic routes, recommended itineraries).

recSMART has a 140˚ wide viewing angle for maximum visibility, capturing a wide view of roads, events and landscapes. The footages are securely saved onto the smartphone and stored in the Cloud, through the ‘Road-Eyes App’, a dedicated mobile application compatible with iOS and Android. The application is aimed to be a social network of drivers as well as a platform to share interesting content (e.g. driving anecdotes, recommended locations, places of interest, noteworthy routes etc.)

A social mobile application:
 ‘Road-Eyes App’ (iOS and Android)
  • Has a live news feed named “On the Road” where content is sorted by 3 types: trending, recent and nearby
  • Allows for convenient real-time viewing and playback of recordings taken on the dashcam
  • Lets people edit and post their content with music and filters
  • Users can comment, like, share and save their favourite content
  • Facilitates a sense of freedom and easy sharing, as it is compatible with major social network platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp, SnapChat etc.)

Autonomous, Removable and Versatile
Unlike traditional dashcams, recSMART can easily be removed from its base for photo-taking and filming. With its built-in battery, users can run the dashcam to take photos inside and outside the vehicle. These can be potentially used as valuable evidence in court, insurance settlements and for accident claim reports.

recSMART comes with an innovative wireless remote button which can be pressed to capture photos and videos without having to manipulate the camera or smartphone.

recSMART is the latest innovation from RoadEyes, following years of expertise and leadership in the video black box market for vehicles. RoadEyes was recently selected by BPI, UbiMobility and Business France as one of the eight most innovative French companies chosen to present their technologies to US Carmakers.

Atlantic Technology Debuts New High-Performance

Atlantic Technology Debuts New High-Performance
In-Wall Speakers for Home Theater and Music

NORWOOD, MA (2/17/16) -- Atlantic Technology, a leader in high-performance home theater speaker systems for the past quarter century, has introduced two new state-of-the-art home theater speakers designed for discreet in-wall installations.

The Atlantic Technology IW-110LCR and IW-105LCR are designed to be installed in the wall adjacent to flat screen TV's or video projection screens. Their paintable grilles can be matched to the wall color for an unobtrusive presentation.

While these speakers are visually discreet, the sound quality presentation is stunning. Both speakers use premium 6-1/2-inch mineral-damped polymer woofers, a 1-inch dome tweeter, and premium first-order 3,500 Hz crossover network. These combine to deliver powerful sound effects, and provide a coherent flow of articulate dialog with the movie action. They deliver powerful bass and clear, airy highs for equal application as music and theater speakers. A three-step tweeter level switch allows users to tailor the high frequency sound for optimal room acoustics, and computer-designed wave-guides optimize treble distribution.

The Atlantic Technology IW-110LCR uses a MTM (midrange-tweeter-midrange) driver configuration with two woofers bracketing the tweeter. When mounted vertically, this tends to create a broader soundstage ideal for left and right speakers. Mounted horizontally, it is an excellent center-channel speaker. With its added woofer, the IW-110LCR, has the highest bass performance and efficiency of the two models.  With its single woofer, the Atlantic Technology IW-105LCR offers proportional performance in a lower-priced package. Both models feature magnetic mounting grilles that prevent wall damage common to pry-off grilles. The speakers include built-in mounting clamps that make for quick and easy installation.

Atlantic Technology IW-110LCR and IW-105LCR in-wall speakers are now available at suggested retail prices of $500 and $350 each, respectively.

From its inception in 1989, Atlantic Technology's mission has been to produce home entertainment products that exemplify the very best in both performance and value. The company specializes in high-performance loudspeaker systems for music, home theater, and custom audio/video installation.
