Security has gotten more important. After all, we’re no
longer in Mayberry, like from the old Andy Griffith Show. So when it comes to
our vehicles, it’s smart to have a dash cam. There are a lot of options when it
comes to dash cams. But they all are not created equal. Up for review is the Vueroid
S1 4K Infinite 2CH. It’s a 2 channel dash cam with front and rear cameras. MSRP
is a fair $429.

The Vueroid S1 4K Infinite 2CH comes in a nice-looking color
printed box, with photos and specs of the dash cams. Opening the box revealed a
well-protected dash cam held in place by custom foam. Materials used in the
construction was mostly plastic. Quality of the materials used, as well as fit
and finish, was excellent. It is actually made in Korea, and the quality shows.
Included were the main front camera with display, rear camera, extra CPL filter,
power cords, including a power cord for hard wiring to your vehicle and owner’s
manual.
First of all, I love the quality of the Vueroid S1 4K
Infinite 2CH. It’s a very well-made product, made in Korea. And the pride in
their product really shows. You can tell in all of the mounting and
installation accessories provided. You get high quality cables. There’s a power
cable so you can hard wire the dash cam to your vehicle. They definitely take
your safety seriously. There’s even a CPL filter, which I’ve never seen
provided before in a dash cam!
I also love the design of the Vueroid S1 4K Infinite 2CH. It
is designed to be used in your vehicle. They took usage seriously, and designed
it for such. I can tell by the fact that in its specs, it can handle up to 149
degrees. That’s another first that I haven’t seen before in a dash cam. After
all, it does get very hot in a car, especially in the summer. It is extremely
well vented! There are air vents on all sides of the main camera, to help the
internals vent to release its heat buil
dup. And while some locations like
phoenix, AZ can cause summer interior car temps soaring even higher than 149, a
dash cam like the Vueroid S1 4K Infinite 2CH could be a necessity there, if you
want it to continue working in the extreme heat.
I also love the rest of the design of the Vueroid S1 4K
Infinite 2CH. At the core of what it does is imaging. It has to be able to see
what it is recording, so you’ll want a good sensor. It all starts with the
sensor, and it was a really good one in the Sony Starvis2. The back of the main
camera houses the color display as well as its function buttons.
Installation proved to be simple. This is another area where
Vueriod thought ahead and provided everything for an ease of installation. Some
vehicles have a USB-C connection, some a cigarette lighter. You may also want
to hard-wire the power cable. No matter how you want to power the dashcam,
there is a power cable for it. And to run the cables up and out of the way,
they even provided a trim tool, foam tape, and cable clips. The manual was also
well written and easy to read and follow, to help with installation. Now that
it’s installed, let’s see how it performs.
Based on its design, specs, and thoughtfulness in
accessories provided, I had high expectations on great performance. I was
pleased to see my expectations were correct. Moving the angle of the lens was
easy to get a great view of the street ahead of me. The Sony Sensor did a great
joy of capturing the scene in front of me. Colors were true to their hue and
very well saturated without being overly so. Resolution was excellent so I was
able to make out details of items in front of me. Thanks to its low light
performance, I was still able to make out good details of items in front of me
at dusk, and in the evenings. The display also did a great job at resolving the
images provided by the sensor. And while the rear camera did not have as high
of resolution as the front camera, it still provided great resolution of the
scene behind me with great colors and imagery.
There are times when you may also want to take footage on
the dashcam with you, and Vueroid that of that too. It has built-in Wi-Fi, so you can access your
footage. There is a PC Viewer program
that you can download from their website, and works well. I preferred the convenience of the Android
app, that also worked well. Not only can
you view footage on the memory card thru the app, you can even download footage
onto your phone. In case of an incident,
which is after all what you want it for, it is helpful to be able to bring
footage with you.
It's clear that the parent company has a lot of experience
in dash cams. They seem to have tapped into this history in making the Vueroid
S1 4K Infinite 2Ch. The vents really did seem to do their job, as did the Sony
sensor. If you’re in the market for a dash cam, the Vueroid S1 4K Infinite 2CH should
be on your short list. Based on its design, features, quality and performance,
the Vueroid S1 4K Infinite 2Ch has earned our Editor’s Choice Award. For more
