JETRO presents Japanese Robot Innovations at the 2011 International CES Robotics TechZone

Chicago, December 21, 2010 – The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is presenting the Japan Pavilion at the 2011 International CES Robotics TechZone, for the fourth time since 2007.
This year’s Japan Pavilion features nine exhibitors, many of them pioneers in their fields. Firms are presenting their leading-edge technologies, products and services on this key global stage, and are looking forward to active business talks with prospective partners. The Japan Pavilion will feature a business corner where visitors can take part in one-on-one meetings with exhibitors.
The Robotics TechZone Japan Pavilion will be open at the Consumer Electronics Show from Thursday, January 6 through Sunday, January 9. The Pavilion will be located in South Hall 2 at The Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).
Exhibitors at the Pavilion will include:
CYBERDYNE Inc., featuring "Robot Suit HAL”® (Hybrid Assistive Limb®), the first Cyborg-type robot extending and improving the physical capabilities of its user by simply wearing it.
JS-ROBOTICS INC., a business venture focusing on research, development, manufacturing and sales of education-oriented IT and robotics.
nextEDGE Technology, K.K., a specialized software engineering company, featuring the touchless interface “aeroTAP,” enabling users to control a PC by using simple hand gestures captured by a webcam.
PARO Robots U.S., Inc., demonstrating the therapeutic baby harp seal robot "PARO," that features a learning function through artificial intelligence. PARO is covered with touch sensors throughout the body, which can detect being petted and cuddled. PARO can also detect the voice and light, and can remember its name and understand some words.
Tsukuba Center, Inc. (TCI). Tsukuba city is a center for robot technology in Japan. The Japanese government has given Tsukuba two missions. First, to determine robot safety standards at state-run research facilities in Tsukuba. Second, to test mobile robots on public roads in Tsukuba.
TOPS Systems Corp. TOPS Systems Corporation works on Architecture-Algorithm Co-design. They have developed several Heterogeneous Multi-Core Processors based on the TOPSTREAM™ architecture that enables high performance and/or low-power with high performance never reached before by any existing architecture.
Vstone Co.,Ltd., a robotics development and manufacturing company. Products are humanoid robots for research and hobby, sensors for robots, and educational programmable robots. Kumotek Robotics is their partner/distributor in USA.;
XIROKU INC., featuring an Optical Touch module, API Optical Touch Screen, and Pressure Sheet Sensor by the electromagnetic induction system.
